Low-profile pressure sensing mat that captures static and dynamic pressure measurement data for foot function and gait analysis, as well as balance, sway and postural data.
The MatScan™, part of the ClassicMat family, is Tekscan's low profile foot pressure measurement platform. Combined with Tekscan's innovative software, the mats can be used for a variety of applications such as foot function analysis, gait analysis, postural stability, sway analysis, fall risk assessments and pressure offloading.
FootMat™ for Clinicians Collects static and dynamic pressure data for analyzing foot function and gait. Software includes automated analysis and reporting.
FootMat Software for Researchers Contains the same core features as the software for clinicians but has added features specific to research applications (for example: the ability to export to Excel, ASCII and MATLAB®)
SportsAT™ Software Software includes essential balance tools and standardized concussion test protocols, including Balance Error Scoring System (BESS) and Sports Concussion Assessment Tool (SCAT3™).

With three different software solutions to choose from and more additional add-on software applications, the application possibilities are endless.
Numerous articles have been published regarding computerized gait analysis and its applications. Tekscan has compiled a list of these research publications in our Medical Bibliography.

Choice of Evolution™ electronics or if higher scanning rates are desired, VersaTek™ electronics (for scanning rates up to 440 Hz).
The MatScan is available in different connection types including wireless and datalogger.
MatScan Tethered: Wires connect the sensor and scanning electronics from the floor mat to the computer via USB port.
*VersaTek system shown.
Dynamic events are captured with scan rates of 100 Hz (Evolution) or 440 Hz (VersaTek).
MatScan Wireless: Data is transmitted directly from the floor mat to the computer, allowing for a wide range of applications.
The floor mat can be up to 100 meters away and data can be recorded and displayed on the computer in real time. A 100 Hz scan rate is available with wireless connectivity.
MatScan Datalogger: Collects and stores sensor data in its internal memory for upload to a computer at a later time.
Ideal for use when a recording needs to be made over an extended period of time. Scan rates of 440 Hz can be achieved.
MatScan Wireless and Datalogger: Both options offer complete flexibility.
Evolution and VersaTek electronics connect to the sensor, gather the data from the sensor, and then process and send this data to your computer via USB connection. When you choose a system that uses VersaTek electronics, it is possible to share electronics for other Tekscan systems to reduce your costs.
Additional items may be included with your system purchase.
The MatScan™ platform supports the full suite of software applications for foot function, gait, peak plantar pressure, weight distribution, stance timing, balance and sway analysis and concussion assessments.
The price of the mat includes one of the following software:
FootMat™ Software for Clinicians:: Collects static and dynamic pressure data for analyzing foot function and gait. Software includes automated analysis and reporting.
FootMat Software for Researchers: Contains the same core features as the FootMat Software for Clinicians but has added features for a more detailed analysis. Including data export capabilities (ASCII, AVI, Excel, MATLAB®), additional calibration points and the ability to synchronize with external devices. (Additional charges apply.)
SportsAT™ software includes essential balance tools and standardized concussion test protocols, including Balance Error Scoring System (BESS) and Sports Concussion Assessment Tool (SCAT3™).
All Tekscan software works with current Windows® based operating systems. To view the complete computer requirements click here.
The software is available in several languages including Spanish, French and German. View software languages available.
Optional add-on protocols and software can be purchased for an additional cost. A software development kit is also available that enables you to build your own applications.
