KSU uses Walkway System for Bovine Gait Analysis

Walkway™ Assesses Bovine Knee Replacement

David Anderson, DVM, used Tekscan's Walkway™ animal gait analysis system on an 8-year-old Jersey dairy cow named Wilhelmina to determine her level of lameness post-surgery. Wilhelmina sustained a breeding injury in December 2007 when the cruciate ligament in her right knee ruptured. Dr. Anderson replaced Wilhelmina's torn ligament with an artificial one. Post-surgery assessment showed a great improvement - her stride length had increased 30 percent and she bore 25 percent more weight on her operated leg. Read the press release to learn more about the Walkway system in veterinary applications.
