What is the Timing Analysis Module™ (TAM™)?

Timing Analysis Module™ (TAM™) is an optional add-on to the F-Scan™ system that automatically generates temporal data for left and right foot strikes during gait. TAM provides the user with an array of stance and gait timing parameters, and illustrates left and right asymmetries. TAM automatically identifies and places boxes on seven anatomical sites on the plantar surface of the foot, to generate the temporal data.

Other software features include:

  • Peak force and impulse data for contact, mid-stance and propulsive phases
  • Standard deviation values for the averaged parameters in the tables
  • Ability to copy and paste information displayed in tables into MS Excel or other spreadsheets
  • Enhanced identification of possible problem areas by displaying values outside the normal or non-pathological range in red
  • Provides normative data ranges for phases of gait and contact pressures/forces

TAM provides easy to read tables organized by foot function, the stance phase and the gait cycle with averages and standard deviations along with comparative non-pathological normative values.

TAM Applications

TAM Applications for Clinicians and Researchers:

  • Observing foot and gait abnormalities
  • Screening diabetics
  • Determining first ray hypermobility

TAM Tables

With TAM, the user is able to identify:

  • Duration of contact in percentage (%) of the stance phase time for 7 anatomical sites
  • Duration for phases of gait in percentage (%) of the stance phase time
  • Duration for phases of gait in percentage (%) of the gait time
  • Peak pressure, peak force, integral and impulse for contact, mid-stance, and propulsive phases
