Tekscan introduced the Strideway gait analysis system in early 2017, creating a lot of buzz with clinicians and researchers. With over twenty years of expertise developing gait analysis products, Tekscan engineers strived to simplify the gait analysis process in a modular, portable, customizable solution. Strideway is a valuable addition to an already established line of pressure measurement products, and Tekscan is proud to see that it helps so many people.

Strideway helps clinicians and researchers gain actionable insight into underlying gait abnormalities, inefficiencies, or imbalances which might otherwise go undetected. While other systems simply provide temporal and kinetic information, Strideway offers temporal, spatial, kinetic, and pressure data. Insights into areas of high pressure are particularly important to clinicians, as it can indicate areas at risk for ulceration, stress fractures, or pain points for the patient.

One example of the difference that Strideway can make is the case of Jimmy Gelgot, a Pennsylvania man who began suffering from an alarming loss of memory. He turned to Geisinger's Memory & Cognition Program, which utilizes Strideway for gait analysis and also as part of their overall treatment assessments.

We can actually bring people in, have them walk on it before taking any medication, have them take the medication. An hour later we can have them walk again and we can measure scientifically how much they change or whether they change.
