Technologies such as load cells are too bulky or obtrusive to measure loads in some tight spaces; that’s where thin, flexible force sensors come into play. However, flexible force-sensing technology has historically been limited by its inability to withstand harsh environments, such as very high temperatures exceeding approximately 160°F. The introduction of the High-Temp FlexiForce™ model HT201 flexible force sensor last year changed the status quo, and in so doing opened up a new range of measurement possibilities.
