Controller

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all U.S. accounting, reporting, tax, and compliance functions. This role is responsible for the full close process, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, ERP integrity, Power BI reporting, and strengthening internal controls.
Day-to-day cash, AR/AP, and basic accounting activities will be supported by existing staff; the Controller will provide oversight and gradually enhance processes as needed.
This position requires strong technical accounting expertise and a high level of leadership, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities; ensure timely, accurate U.S. GAAP financial statements.
  • Prepare and enhance financial reporting packages for leadership.
  • Oversee data integrity and financial mapping within Epicor ERP.
  • Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation.
Tax, Compliance & Audit
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance, including corporate income tax and sales/use tax.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax preparers; prepare audit schedules and support annual filings.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the annual budgeting process; partner with department leaders to develop assumptions and build financial models.
  • Develop rolling forecasts; analyze variances and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support long-term planning, scenario analysis, and cost/margin initiatives.
Power BI & Financial Analytics
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for visibility into financial and operational performance.
  • Integrate ERP and operational data to support decision-making across departments.
  • Provide analysis related to cost drivers, inventory, margins, and operational KPIs.
Cross-Functional & Operational Leadership
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, sales, engineering, and global finance teams.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff; support skills development and team productivity.
  • Lead or support special initiatives, including system enhancements, automation efforts, and process optimization.
  • Performs related duties as needed to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager role.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, and internal controls.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Epicor is a plus) and financial data validation.
  • Experience supporting tax compliance activities and external audits.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or multinational environment is a strong plus.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
