Dr. Miguel Stanley - Changing Lives with T-Scan

In a recent CAD/CAM Magazine article, Dr. Miguel Stanley penned an article to share his vision for the future of dentistry, even going so far as to share an example of how he used modern dentistry to give one patient her smile back. But, what we didn’t see coming was that his case had a humanitarian side.

Dr. Stanley’s patient was having more than just dental health issues. The 27-year old had lost nearly everything—her husband, her job, and almost her child. Financial woes arose when she could no longer get a job because of her disfigured smile.

After learning of the patient’s situation, Dr. Stanley offered to treat her at no charge, using technology to perform what he described as “digital magic in dentistry.” In the image above, you can see the severity of this patient’s situation.

“I feel that digital technologies will help and assist younger generations of dentists achieve incredible results, because these treatment sequences can be planned by teams in other parts of the world, and mitigate responsibilities by insuring that the quality of the treatment plan is perfect.” –Dr. Miguel Stanley

Dr. Stanley’s practice has invested heavily in technology in the last few years, including low level laser therapy, and T-ScanTM for testing occlusion. He used T-Scan to test the patient’s occlusion after the implant was placed. You can see in the image above (from the article) that he was able to identify an imbalance after surgery, and then make adjustments for a more even bite.

“I believe that the future in dentistry is bright and fun, and I am really excited for the things to come.” –Dr. Miguel Stanley

We’re proud to be a part of Dr. Stanley’s practice, and his vision for the future. Cases like these truly make a difference in people’s lives. Read the full article in CAD/CAM Magazine.
