A Tekscan system consists of scanning electronics, software, and patented thin-film sensors. The Walkway system is configurable based on your application requirements.

Walkway Components

Evolution Handles or VersaTek Cuffs - Every Tekscan system uses specially designed scanning electronics called Handles or Cuffs. The electronics connect to the sensor, gather the data from the sensor, and then process and send this data to your computer via USB connection.

  • Watch as a dog walks along the Animal Walkway™ system. The Walkway systems are instrumental in identifying lameness, monitoring gait pre- and post-surgery, evaluating or modifying treatment. These pressure mats provide multi-paw or multi-hoof gait analysis.

  • The Walkway software calculates data for various gait cycle parameters. Here, the Gait Table shows key values for an entire gait cycle.

  • The Stance-Stride Table provides individual data for the left front, left hind, right front, and right hind paw/hoof.

  • The Symmetry Table provides a symmetry score (or index) between front and hind, and left and right sides (in %).

  • Automatic Stance Detection means that, for quadrupeds, individual stances can be automatically detected and labeled as left front (LF), right front (RF), left hind (LH) or right hind (RH) and numbered from LF1 to the last stance. For bipeds, individual stances can be automatically detected and labeled as left (L) or right (R), and numbered from L1 and R1 to the last stance. Stance identification can also be verified, accepted, or modified.
