API 1 - Developer's Toolkit
Application Programming Interface 1 Toolkit
Develop your own application using Tekscan Scanning Electronics and Pressure Sensors!
API 1 (Application Programming Interface 1) is a developer's toolkit that enables programmers experienced in C++ to develop their own applications that make calls to and gather data from Tekscan's scanning electronics and tactile pressure sensors. These applications can have their own unique user interface and functionality and can have a purpose that is completely different from Tekscan products like I-Scan® or F-Scan®.
In a Windows environment, using Tekscan scanning electronics, the appropriate physical pressure sensors, and sensor software “maps”, an application utilizing the API 1 library has control of the scanning electronics to:
- initialize it
- request / set recording parameters such as scan rate
- set the type of sensor and sensor map to be used
- acquire single frames of sensor data (snapshots)
- initiate the acquisition of multiple sequential frames of pressure sensor data (a recording)
The API 1 toolkit includes a run-time license for installation on a single computer. After the application is developed, the user can deploy it to multiple systems, by purchasing supporting Tekscan scanning electronics, tactile pressure sensors, serialized “run time” DLL licenses, scanning electronics drivers and software sensor maps. To assist understanding of API 1, four hours of technical support within the first 90 days of delivery is included.
