Software Engineering Team Lead

We are seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead, who will work in an agile environment with talented, cross-functional teams to design, implement, and iterate on products that satisfy customer needs and drive company growth. You will be responsible for leading an engineering team to deliver product, remove obstacles, conduct code reviews, and serve as a role model for career growth This role will report to the CTO and closely partner with our engineering groups and product leadership teams. This position is located in Boston.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 4 - 8 software engineers and provide day-to-day technical guidance to team members on development activities; actively contribute code to projects • Hire top talent on the software engineering team and drive a high-performance collaborative culture.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership, working closely with architects and senior management.
  • Provide timely feedback regarding addressing bugs, code quality, and performance issues
  • Create and drive the detailed planning, scheduling, and execution of development plans to meet business goals and schedules.
  • Help drive all aspects of an agile software development process, from sprint planning to daily scrum meetings and sprint demos.
  • Help implement an effective system of project governance and metric-based reporting.
  • Help define and enforce software development best practices, including unit tests and code reviews.
  • Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.
  • Mentor team members to help them achieve their career goals.

Desired Qualifications And Experience:

While candidates from all backgrounds (B.S. degree or higher in a quantitative discipline or other relevant fields with 8 years of relevant work experience) are considered, the preferred candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • Leadership experience with recruiting, managing and mentoring a growing software engineering team
  • 5+ year’ experience coding as a Full-stack .NET engineer
  • Experience in Agile / Scrum
  • Technically excellent across all software disciplines, including algorithms, data structures, architecture, and design.
  • Ability to manage and motivate in an agile, product driven culture
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a deep technical background.
  • Experience with both back-end and front-end technologies, for example, Java, JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, REST, SQL, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of modern software architectures and technologies. Experience with MVVM is ideal. 
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is highly desirable.
