Saddle Fitting Improves Horse and Rider Comfort
Colin Kimball-Davis has been fitting, adjusting and repairing saddles for two decades and owns and operates The English Saddler. The Saddle™ system is his tool of choice during the saddle fitting process, as it provides a more precise and scientific approach. Pressure measurements and center of force are used to assess and determine which way an individual rider leans. Material can then be used to best fit the custom saddle specific to the individual rider so that the rider is most comfortable, but more importantly, so that the horse does not develop any sores or ulcers. The main goal is to ensure the horse’s safety and comfort with a proper saddle fit.
"While this system does not replace experience and expertise in saddle fitting, it is an immensely useful tool and an important step forward in the process and should give clients an improved sense of faith in the results."
