Sports Balance Analyzer (SBA)
stance analysis

System Features

Body position, balance, and weight transfer are key elements in athletic performance. The Sports Balance Analyzer (SBA) captures vertical forces, pressures, and center of force locations under the athlete’s feet. These factors are then displayed to assess his or her stance in static or dynamic situations. Clients simply stand on the low profile mat and perform motions important to their sport. The intuitive software provides real-time feedback on stance parameters such as center of force location and body weight distribution. This biofeedback accelerates the learning process by converting subjective assessments of “feel” into objective measurements of movements and positions through real-time visualization.

The data allows you to compare the difference between an athlete in training and top performers in a sport. You can then review how changes in position will affect performance, and use that information to coach the athlete to improve. SBA can be used in sports where dynamic balance is important such as golf, tennis, baseball, basketball, and shot put. You can synchronize video images with SBA data for a multimedia view of the motion to enhance understanding and performance.

The SBA system includes a durable platform with an active region of 34.3 x 14.5 in. (871 x 368 mm). 4,576 individual sensing elements capture high resolution data. The scanning electronics are enclosed in a protective casing for durability in the field. This casing can be located in the front or back of the mat so as to not interfere with the client’s movement. SBA also includes easy to use software.
