OFFLOAD AND TREAT DIABETIC ULCERS WITH THE F-SCAN® PRESSURE MAPPING SYSTEM
Using in-shoe pressure mapping technology to offload and treat existing diabetic ulcers.
Plantar pressure assessment with Tekscan's F-Scan system gives you a view from inside the shoe and
identifies regions of high pressure unseen by the naked eye. Pressure mapping captures objective and
quantifiable data from heel contact to toe off and indicates how the client is walking and how their
feet are functioning. The F-Scan is the ideal tool because it allows you to determine the efficiency
of the prescribed orthotic and whether it is meeting the desired treatment outcome. If the desired
efficiency and treatment outcome are not met, adjusting the prescription and re-evaluation can then
be done. View a diabetic ulcer case study.
In-shoe pressure mapping with the F-Scan system reveals:
Peak Pressures
Timing
Center of Force Trajectory
Contact Area
Documentation and Education using Pressure Mapping
Patient education is essential to healing and wound prevention. F-Scan software
includes a patient database feature as well as a Print Report feature to allow for quick
and easy patient education and documentation.
Benefits of using the F-Scan to offload and treat existing diabetic ulcers:
Sense what the neuropathic foot cannot feel
Identify areas of potential ulceration and reduce problem areas
Immediately determine orthotic efficiency
