Error: Failed to initialize the Wireless ELF device. No device was found
Question/Problem: Error: Failed to initialize the Wireless ELF device. No device was found
Answer/Solution: Start by trying the following:
- Try disconnecting the WELF hub from the computer and reconnecting it. Then restart the software to see if it is recognized.
- Make sure the WELF hub is connected to a USB port directly on the PC and not through a USB hub
- Try connecting the WELF hub to a different USB port on the same PC
- When the WELF hub is recognized in the device manager, but not by the software, try uninstalling and reinstalling the device:
- Put the WELF installation CD in the drive and click exit to close the install program
- Right click on the Wireless Sensor Hub in the device manager and click Uninstall
- Disconnect and then reconnect the WELF hub to the USB port
- Wait for the Windows Add Hardware wizard to open and go through the wizard to reinstall it.
- Then try starting the WELF software
- Try the WELF hub on a different PC
You will also want to notice whether you experience any other error messages in the Windows Device Manager with the WELF device, such as question marks or exclamation points.
