Real-time data freezes for several seconds at each frame

Question/Problem: Real-time data is not continuously displayed and freezes for several seconds at each displayed frame.

Answer/Solution: The likeliest cause for this is having the movie play-back speed setting too slow. The Play Speed setting is a feature for slowing down the playback speed of recorded movies. This setting affects the refresh rate of both recorded windows and real-time windows. If the Play Speed is set to a slow setting, this will slow down the refresh rate of the real-time window and make it appear to freeze.

When you have a movie open, you can set the Play Speed option with a Toolbar icon (it has no pull-down menu item). It can only be changed with a movie open. With only a real-time window open, the toolbar icon will be grayed out.

Open a recorded movie and use the Play Speed button to choose from one of the following speeds: Slowest, Medium Slow, Normal (default), Medium Fast, and Fastest. The play speed can be adjusted either before or during movie playback.
