Why the FlexiForce sample circuit uses op-amp MC3407AD as opposed to other commonly available ones -- such as LM741
Question/Problem: Why is the particular op-amp, MC3407AD, used in the sample circuit for FlexiForce sensors as opposed to other commonly available ones such as, LM741?
Answer/Solution: This is a single version of the quad that has been used by us for many years; the customer is free to choose other op-amps.
The Op-Amp used in the FlexiForce sample circuit is the MC34071AP (8-Pin DIP) or the MC34071AD (8-Pin SOIC). You can add a G to the end for the lead free version of the part. (This op-amp is available on line through Digikey.)
