TireScanTM System Features

System Overview

TireScan Pressure Display

Above: 2D pressure distribution image of a tire footprint showing Perimeter Area,
Contact Area, and Cross Sectional Pressure Profile of the tire.
It also shows the Length and Width of the tire footprint.

KEY SOFTWARE FEATURES:
  • Measures force, pressure, and contact area - dynamically
  • Record and Play-back pressure “movies”
  • Display real-time and recorded data as 2-D and 3-D pressure images and graphs
  • Ability to isolate and analyze specific areas
  • Plot pressure, area, and force data over time and distance
  • Windows compatible copy and paste of pressure images or data values into other applications
  • File output in ASCII format
  • View and compare multiple tests
  • New! Save files as AVI movies
  • And much, much more!

TIRE SENSOR OPTIONS

Tekscan offers a variety of sensors for capturing tire footprints of passenger, truck, agricultural, mining, and OTR tires. We also offer sensors to measure tire bead pressures. Sensors are available in a wide range of sizes, spatial resolutions, and scan rates. Refer to the chart below for Sensor Specifications. Don't see a sensor that meets your needs? Tekscan also offers custom sensor designs. Please contact us to learn more. Refer to our Industrial Catalog for complete sensor listing.

RELATED PRODUCTS & OPTIONS

Tekscan systems provide the flexibility of adding on capabilities as your needs evolve to enhance data analysis and interpretation. Please ask us about any of the add-on options to the I-Scan system listed below:

Video Synchronization - Video sequences can be recorded and synchronized with your pressure data and visualized in Tekscan software, enhancing the utility of collected data.

Equilibration/Calibration Devices - Pneumatic devices apply a uniform pressure to the active area of a sensor to normalize output of each sensing element. The system electronically compensates for variation in individual sensing elements.

ASR (Automatic Sequential Recording) - Allows the system to automatically start a new recording when the current one is complete, without the need to manually open new real-time windows and start new recordings.

API 2 (Application Program Interface) - API 2 software enables a user, with programming knowledge, to write programs that directly access Real-Time sensor data buffers. The user interface is preserved with API 2.

Advanced Analysis (Polygon/Blob/Tracking Box) - This software package includes three options for more thorough analysis, such as allowing you to add a custom shaped box or window to a Real-Time window, ability to study loaded sensels in a particular area, and the ability to add a box to a movie or Real-Time window that will follow the loaded sensels in a given area.

Tab Extender - Increase the distance between your sensor and the Tekscan sensor scanning handle (electronics) with Tekscan’s reusable Tab Extender.

Save MatLab - Save Tekscan movie data (*.fsx file format) into a MATLAB MAT-File (*.mat file format) for greater flexibility in analysis.

External Trigger & Synch - Trigger/Synch allows the user to coordinate the operation of other products with a Tekscan system.
