Tekscan offers a wide range of systems designed
with your pressure measurement needs in mind. Tekscan
systems are versatile and have been used for various
applications from packaging to rollers to wiper
blades.
Tekscan's I-Scan system is perfect for general
purpose use, such as packaging and brake applications.
The I-Scan is also available in different versions,
such as a handheld system, allowing greater
portability for field use, and High-Speed, acquiring
data at up to 10,000 frames per second.
For more specific applications, Tekscan offers its
BPMS (Body Pressure Measurement System) and CONFORMat
systems, ideal for seating and positioning surfaces
such as seats, cushions and mattresses. Also
available, are Tekscan's Wiper and TireScan systems
designed exclusively for wipers and tires.

Hip Protectors |

Challenge: Determining the effectiveness
of plastic hip protectors when subjected to force,
such as a fall.
Solution: Tekscan's
High-Speed I-Scan system, well known for its use in
airbag deployment and crash testing, was used to
measure load distribution under a plastic hip
protector placed on an artificial limb. The system
measures peak pressure, contact area, and pressure
distribution; helping designers select the proper
performance materials to reduce the risk of injury.

Our software can average contact pressure?
Tekscan's software can perform contact
or temporal averaging. When a pressure movie is
recorded, Tekscan's software can display the averaged
pressure value of each cell for the entire length of
the movie, into one single frame; making it easy to
detect overall pressure.
You can protect your data acquisition handle?
A water-proof, plastic case is
available to protect your Tekscan handle from being
damaged by water, mist or other environmental
elements. Ask your application engineer for details.
