The CONFORMat ® System Features

System Overview

Software Display
Tekscan's Pressure mapping software allows the user to easily identify high pressure areas (in red), view contact area and pressure and graph the results. Pressure on the individual sensels can be assessed numerically (box, above), easing the identification of peak pressure areas.

Software Features

  • Capture dynamic pressure distribution
  • Play-back pressure "movies"
  • Display real-time and recorded data as 2-D and 3-D images
  • Display of pressure, force, and area curves over time
  • Export ASCII file capability
  • Display data frame-by-frame, single, and/or multi-frame
  • Isolate and analyze specific regions
  • Display Center of Force and its trajectory
  • View and compare multiple tests simultaneously
  • And much, much, more!

Sensor Description (Model #5330)

The sensing elements move independantly in the X, Y, and Z directions

Spatial Resolution: 0.5 sensel/cm2 (3 sensels/in2)
Technology: Resistive
Calibration: With application of controlled device
Pressure Range: 0-250 mmHg (0-5 PSI)
Sensor Thinness: 1.78 mm (0.07 in)

Sensor Configuration

Sensing Area (1 Mat): 471.4 mm. x 471.4 mm. (18.56 in. x 18.56 in.)
Number of Sensing Elements (1 Mat): 1,024 Sensels
Size of Sensing Area (2 Mats): 942.8 mm. x 471.4 mm. (37.12 in. x 18.56 in.)
Number of Sensing Elements (2 Mat): 2,048 Sensels

The Vacuum Calibration System (optional)

A portable system which applies a uniform pressure to the active area of the sensor to normalize output of each sensing element.

Simple to use:
  1. insert the sensor
  2. push a button to start the vacuum pump
  3. dial in a pressure
  4. go through the simple software menu to calibrate the sensor

Related Products & Options

Video Synchronization - Video sequences can be recorded and synchronized with your pressure data and visualized in Tekscan software, enhancing the utility of collected data.

Wireless Capability - Enables a wireless connection between your sensor/handle and your PC allowing for ultimate flexibility in data acquisition.

ASR (Automatic Sequential Recording) - Allows the system to automatically start a new recording when the current one is complete, without the need to manually open new real-time windows and start new recordings.

API 2 (Application Program Interface) - API 2 software enables a user, with programming knowledge, to write programs that directly access Real-Time sensor data buffers. The user interface is preserved with API 2.

Advanced Analysis (Polygon/Blob/Tracking Box) - This software package includes three options for more thorough analysis, such as allowing you to add a custom shaped box or window to a Real-Time window, ability to study loaded sensels in a particular area, and the ability to add a box to a movie or Real-Time window that will follow the loaded sensels in a given area.

Tab Extender - Increase the distance between your sensor and the Tekscan sensor scanning handle (electronics) with Tekscan’s reusable Tab Extender.

Save MatLab - Save Tekscan movie data (*.fsx file format) into a MATLAB MAT-File (*.mat file format) for greater flexibility in analysis.
