Body Pressure Measurement System (BPMS™)
seating & positioning analysis
Enables you to optimize seating, bedding, cushioning and positioning solutions.
Body Pressure Measurement System (BPMS) Features:
-
Powerful and versatile pressure measurement and positioning tool
-
Provides accurate and reliable pressure readings enabling you to optimize seating, bedding, cushioning and positioning solutions
-
Pinpoints anatomical structures that cause concentrated pressures showing you where the pressure needs to be relieved
-
Ensures precise measurement of location and magnitude of peak pressures without altering the support surface characteristics
-
Provides the capability to identify pressure related problems more effectively
-
Documentation and communication will be easier with the quantitative results it measures, displays, and records
-
Multiple configurations available - BPMS offers the right solution for any size support surface
-
Utilizes a modular sensor concept which allows for a wide range of sensing options for all your application needs - the system of your choice can be built consisting of one or two sensor mats for seating studies, up to a maximum of eight sensors for a full bed
-
Scanning speed of 100 Hz
-
Choice of various sensors, depending on application
Benefits of Pressure Mapping:
-
Reduces the incidence of ulceration, tissue deterioration, and speeds healing of existing pressure sores, ulcers, and wounds
-
Scientific selection of cushions and positioning
-
Provides tangible, visible biofeedback for the client
A Tekscan system consists of scanning electronics, software, and patented thin-film sensors. The BPMS system is configurable based on your application requirements.
BPMS Components
Evolution Handle(s) - Every Tekscan system uses specially designed scanning electronics called Handles or Cuffs. The electronics connect to the sensor, gather the data from the sensor, and then process and send this data to your computer via USB connection.

BPMS Sensor(s) - Sensor selection dependent on application
*Components depend on system configuration. Additional items may be included with your system purchase.
BPMS Pressure Sensor Configurations
BPMS is built on a "modular" sensor construct concept. This means you can acquire a system in many ways from one pressure sensor up to eight. This allows you to grow your BPMS as your needs expand, thus protecting your initial investment.
